Ismail Haider Mallick, Member Secretary of Bangabandhu-Bangladesh Premier League (B-BPL) Governing Council said the future of the country’s most coveted T-20 League BPL depends on the improvement of COVID -19 situations.
All the T-20 tournaments across the world including India Premier League (IPL)- the second largest after ICC World Cups have been called off due to COVID 19 situation.
The future of the World T-20 along with the T20 Asia Cup still hangs on the balances which are scheduled to happen in October and before October this year.
Ismail Haider Mallick said that they can think of arranging BPL tournaments when coronavirus situation improves in the country

“BPL will take place this time. It’ll take us three months to get everything ready,” IH Mallick said.
“But we also have to think about reality. The corona situation in the country is not good. So we are thinking to start working on it when the situation improves,” Mollick told the media.
“There are economic problems all over the world. All of this cannot be stopped. I believe if the situation improves BPL will take place. However, we can’t specifically give any time or date,” he added
The BCB director also expressed that BPL future also depends on the schedule of the ICC T-20 World Cup and T20 Asia Cup as well.
“We’ve the Australia T20 World Cup ahead of us. Before that, we are supposed to play the T20 Asia Cup. If these events happen, BPL arrangements will then be delayed. It will be pushed to next year,” he said.
“But if there is no World Cup or Asia Cup and the corona situation is good, we can then think of starting BPL in that slot,” he also said.
“Right now we can’t say in which slot we will start the arrangements. But if the situation doesn’t improve, it will then back down definitely,” he concluded.
