Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is planning to carry out a coronavirus test of the close aides of the cricketers including field workers, team boys, backdoor supporting coaching staff who work closely related to the players.
Some of the most prominent cricket nations have started their cricketing activities in their own country with a view to resuming international cricket soon after the protracted break of the COVID-19 pandemic.
West Indies and England players have already started their preparation for the imminent Test series, while Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has started residential camp with their bowlers.
A huge number of field workers, cleaners and team boys work very closely with the players when there is practice in the stadium.

Regarding the matter, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury has said that they are planning to perform a coronavirus test of these workers with a view to starting cricket.
“Those who have the chance to work closely with the players we are thinking of identifying them and isolating them as well. They will be tested for Covid-19. The plan is to ensure the health and safety of the players,” Nizamuddin Chowdhury said to a leading Bangla newspaper.
Bangladesh Cricket has still not decided whether to perform a coronavirus test of the players and will take expert opinion before doing that.
“It’s still not decided whether players have to undergo a coronavirus test? This is a matter of discussion. We will do what the expert says on that matter,” the BCB CEO said.
“The players are very aware of their health and know what they have to do. Lower-level workers are not conscious about their health but in the interest of the players it’s important to test them and keep them in a safe zone,” he also said.
“However, if there is any symptom of the players, it’ll be dangerous for us. So, we will definitely do that, before getting down in the field,” he added.
