Mashrafee reveals not playing 2011 WC is a blessing in disguise

Bangladesh former ODI skipper Mashrafee bin Mortaza insisted that missing the 2011 World Cup was a blessing in disguise.
Mashrafee revealed that his wife was on the death bed during their game against South Africa and he played that tournament thing could have been very different.
Tamim Iqbal completed his Facebook live show by bringing Mashrafee along with Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah on Saturday.
‘’After hearing that the 2011 World Cup will be held in Bangladesh, I had just one dream that I'll play for Bangladesh in the World Cup. Before the world cup, just after recovering from my injury I again got injured while playing in the Dhaka league. I didn't think for once that I'll not play. My ligament was not completely torn at that time. Then again after that, I went to Sri Lanka, the doctor told me that you will have one risk that it can be torn if you play, if you can play tolerating that then there might be no problem. So, I agreed that and the doctor also sent the report. Then again I've not been picked. There are regrets, of course, I'll not say that I don't regret or I don't feel bad. But I haven't accused anyone,’’ said Mashrafee.
‘’I've been emotional in cricket only two times. You guys saw that I wasn't broke in the dressing room even when I got retired. But in two times I've been emotional, one is the 2011 World Cup where I couldn't control myself and second one is when I stepped down from captaincy,’’ he said.
‘’Missing the 2011 World Cup chance was so tough for me. But now I think better that if I've played in the 2011 World Cup, in the last match against South Africa, my wife has been said that she is clinically dead. When I admitted her in the hospital, I had a daughter, my wife was caught by jaundice while in pregnancy, bilirubin was 11 after admitting in the hospital it got up to 12,’’ he said.
‘’At that time doctor told me that mothers die in 99 per cent of this kind of cases. Now I feel that if I've played in that match I couldn't able to take my wife to the hospital. I feel better now than I felt bad. Maybe, for this reason, Allah didn't want me to play on that World Cup. For that reason, I might have got my family back,’’ he said
