Bangladesh one-day international captain Tamim Iqbal and left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam comes forward to struggling freedom fighters in Narayanganj during the coronavirus pandemic.

Tamim and Apu decided to stand beside 15 struggling freedom fighters in Narayanganj’s Forajikanda and they have been provided financial supports and daily rations for the families through the local UNO [Upazila Nirbahi Officer].
“We have been trying to help the people struggling due to the crisis. There are many who are not being able to reveal their struggle publicly. There are many freedom fighters in my area that are stressed due to the situation. That is why I and Tamim Bhai decided to do something for them. We have gifted them some cash and rations of regular use. Our UNO madam has handed those to them [freedom fighters],” Nazmul, who has been tirelessly working in his home town Narayanganj helping the needy amid coronavirus pandemic and from the start had the support of Tamim financially, informed the media. “Our gift to the freedom fighters [in my area] is a different thing for the reason for what they have done for our country. A few of them are struggling now so we thought to stand beside them,” said Nazmul.
