Shakib al Hasan Foundation to provide corona testing kits

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan announced on Friday that his Shakib Al Hasan Foundation will provide corona virus testing kits to recognized hospitals and medical institutions in the coming days.
"I am extremely proud to announce that Confidence Group has teamed up with SAH Foundation to match funds totalling BDT 20 Lacs and purchase authentic testing kits to be supplied to recognized hospitals and medical institutions,’’ Shakib was quoted in his official Facebook page.
‘’I look forward to collaborating with Confidence Group even more to make a difference in everyone's lives,’’ it added.
Shakib said that he is looking forward to help 2000 underprivileged families through his new initiative The Shakib Al Hasan Foundation.
Shakib on Saturday launched his own foundation called ‘The Shakib Al Hasan Foundation’ while The Daily Star, Sheba.xyz, and Samakal, have joined hands with The Shakib Al Hasan Foundation to launch ‘Mission Save Bangladesh’.
‘Mission Save Bangladesh’ will be the first initiative with which ‘The Shakib Al Hasan Foundation’ -- an initiative of Shakib Al Hasan, who is one of the greatest all-rounders of all time -- is joining forces to fight the impact of coronavirus.
"Assalam-u-alaikum, I hope that everyone in and out of the country is safe. Because of coronavirus,the whole world is going through a crisis, and Bangladesh is not excluded. There are a lot of underprivileged people in the country and at this time, they really need assistance.
"An organisation called Mission Save Bangladesh has taken such an initiative. My charitable organisation, The Shakib Al Hasan Foundation, has joined this organisation and we are all trying to stand beside the underprivileged. I urge every individual and organisation to stand beside these underprivileged people from their respective positions.
"Our concerted effort will make it possible for them to maintain their daily lives. I really believe from the bottom of my heart that if we all work as a team, we can rescue ourselves from this epidemic. I am requesting everyone to consider my request. Assalam-u-alaikum," Shakib said adding that the purpose of the project is to help underprivileged.
“The main purpose of Mission save Bangladesh is to help our people fight Coronavirus pandemic and the idea is to give food to poor people who cannot work at the moment due to lockdown. Till now, this project has helped 2000 families and wants to increase this number as well.
Shakib also said the lower-middle-class people are suffering most due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“The whole country is suffering from coronavirus. Due to coronavirus pandemic, a lot of poor people are in confusion as to when they can start earning again. The Shakib Al Hasan Foundation wants to help these people and has taken initiative to collect fund from different people and agencies worldwide,” he said.
“This fund will be used to help under privileged families,” said Shakib.
So far, Mission Save Bangladesh has received donations amounting to 38,64,679 taka from different private organisations and NGOs, with which the initiative will be supporting more than 2,500 underprivileged families.
Besides providing the families with groceries, Mission Save Bangladesh has also been carrying out community-based activities like disinfecting public places.
