Rain washed out women's practice match

The practice match between Bangladesh and Thailand was abandoned without a ball being bowled on Monday after persistent rain in Allan Border field at Brisbane Australia.


This was supposed to be  Bangladesh first official warm-up match of the tournament.


Bangladesh will take on Pakistan in their second warm-up match on February 20th.

Bangladesh women team is lead by Salma Khatun.


BCB has adopted similar strategy to the women team that they applied for under 19 cricketers. Bangladesh under 19 teams have gone long before to South Africa for their world cup preparation.


Bangladesh team flew to Australia 13 days before the main event.BCB wants women cricketers to adapt to Australia's condition.


The women cricketers are passing some idle time in the dressing room after the washout matches.


In the five-team Group A, Bangladesh will play their giant neighbor India on February 24 at Perth and the next three games are against Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka on February 27, 29 and March 2 at Canberra and Melbourne respectively.
