Bangladesh off-spinner Mehedy Hasan said that he is eyeing to bat up-in-the-order in the domestic league to develop him as a proper batsman.
Mehedy, who is going through rehabilitation for his finger injury, is expecting him to be available in the Bangladesh Cricket League, country’s lone franchise-based first-class tournament from the third round, slated from February 14-17.
‘’I have started bowling and I am hoping to return after one week and play from the third round matches of BCL,’’ Mehedy told reporter at the BCB academy premises on Wednesday.

‘’It is taking time to return back to bowling and I have spoken with physios and coach and they have told me to return after becoming fully fit because it will be good for me,’’ he said.
‘’ I also think that I should come back fully fit and I am working on my fitness and batting,’’ he said adding that now he is focusing majorly on his batting.
‘’I have talked with the selector about my batting and they have supported me and encouraged me to bat higher up the order in domestic cricket. When I played for Khulna Tigers in BPL the team management has helped me and told me I am a proper batsman and I can do it and then felt I can do it[ batting] also,’’ he said.
‘’Even if I do not bat higher up the order in the BCL I hope to bat at certain position in BCL,’’ he said.
‘’In Test cricket or in ODI’s there is lot of opportunities to bat and I am trying to bat higher up the order in the premier league and I have talked with my [premier league] team in this regard,’’ he added.
