Bangladesh High Performance pace bowling coach Champaka Ramanayake said on Tuesday that he is confident that Mustafizur Rahman will make a comeback across format.

Mustafizur was dropped from the Test squad for the first time since he debuted in 2015 and it is considered to be a reality check for the left-arm pace bowler.

Head coach Russell Domingo insisted that Mustafizur will need to do some technical work in order to make him available for Test cricket.

‘’I think Mustafiz he will come back. He is an experienced guy. We sit back some time and hope he understands what is required from him. And to get his cutters back what he was really doing well. I am pretty sure he will come back,’’ Champaka told reporters on Tuesday.

Champaka added that there are lot of pace bowlers in their repertoire at the moment and they are looking forward to work with them in the coming days.

‘’Yeah, most of them are from high performance. And they are quite well, I mean potential fast bowlers. But it takes time to do well in international level. Because they are young and had one season in fast-class cricket. But at least we got some bowlers to work with now,’’ said Champaka.

‘’I don’t want to mention names. But as you said Hasan is really going to be a good prospect and  I am very excited about it. and Sumon Khan has done really well in HP and NCL, BCL, speaking of wickets. and other one Mugdho, I am really monitoring him. He got pace. Khalid will be back soon. He had a bit of an issue. So those four actually has done really well in recent past. So probably they are the future Test and ODI cricketers for Bangladesh. So I am quite excited about those youngsters,’’ he said.

‘I worked with them last two years on under-19 boys. There are about five six boys coming through from there. So we will have enough bowlers in future. And we are doing wonderfully well. and hopefully get into the finals first and then win the final. So something looking forward,’’ he said.

Champaka said that he is confident that Mohammad Saifuddin will return back to competitive cricket soon as he is recovering rapidly from his back injury.

‘’Yeah I have been working for last few days. And we had a back problem but now this team getting better and better now, we started bowling.

‘’So I had to monetize, and he [Saifuddin] is gradually building up the clock for the Zimbabwe tour. And probably he will play one of the four teams in BCL. That’s why I am preparing him for. I am very happy at the moment, he has not got any problem so,’’ he said.,

‘’He knows what he is doing. He is very clever cricketer. And he loves to bowl at the end so he is working with his yorkers. And at the moment we are not doing that much of skill because he is going to play four day cricket. first on the 14th, which is red ball. But he still wants to bowl some yorkers so then had to maintain. I know he can bowl good yorkers but execution is very important so we have to maintain that over and over again. That’s what he is working. He has his plans so it’s very easy to work with him,’’ he concluded.
