Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim insisted he is not embarrassed with all the talks around his returning back to the national team as he does not feel his place is granted in Tigers dressing room.

Some quarters from BCB alleged that Mushfiqur is being punished for opting out of the three-phase Pakistan series as he decided not to travel to Pakistan series citing security concerns.

According to them, why else will he have to prove his mettle in the longest format despite being the most dependable batsman in the lineup considering any stalwarts in the side should not be an automatic choice of the team.

Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal had earlier skipped tours due to personal reasons and though they were allowed to return back without any problem it might just not be the same for Mushfiqur for opting out of the tour of Pakistan.

BCB president Nazmul Hassan had insisted earlier that players had the option to not go to Pakistan when Pakistan series was doubtful due to security concerns but his tone changed drastically following the T20I series whitewash in Pakistan as he publicly criticized Mushfiqur for opting out of tours only validate the allegation that BCB might make him pay for his decision by coming up with the theory of giving a good run to the youngster.

When asked whether it was embarrassing for him to see that his commitment was questioned or the double standard of BCB, he replied in a negative tone.

‘’I am not a big cricketer like Tamim and Shakib and I always think myself as a small player,’’ Mushfiqur was quoted in a leading cricket website.

‘’Like I always say that I only plan about how to get a chance to play in the next series. So it was not embarrassing for me rather it looked normal as they are saying what they are thinking,’’ he said.

‘’As far as recovery is concerned there is a match of BCL and I will try to perform so that I make the selectors and members of the team management happy. If they think that I can add value to the team than they will pick me in the upcoming series,’’ he said.
