Walton Central Zone all-rounder Soumya Sarkar said on Wednesday that no matter what is their team composition it will only pay off if they can deliver on the particular day.

Bangladesh cricketers have joined their respective teams in Bangladesh Cricket League, franchise based four-day cricket tournament, set to start Friday.

Walton had formed their squad with several national cricketers and according to many is a clear favorites to clinch the trophy, though Soumya disagreed.   

Playing for Walton Central Zone in the four-team tournament, Soumya is optimistic for a good result for his side but to be driven from team effort.
 
“For being a champion, it depends on how a team is performing on the field. Team performance is vital for getting a good result. When I played for South Zone, most of us used to be from Khulna [Division]. The gelling was good and it had experienced players in the dressing room,” said Soumya.

 “These create chance for a result. Here [Central Zone] players have come playing for different divisions. Thinking that way, it can be difficult but if the players stick to their game with red ball [results will be positive],” the left-handed batsman added.
