Chattogram Challengers skipper Mahmudullah is likely to return after the Sylhet phase in the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League, said Challengers official on Tuesday.
‘’Mahmudullah is waiting for the green signal from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physio to return to the field and no risks would be taken regarding him. Even if Mahmudullah does not feature in the Sylhet part of the tournament, he is likely to play in the last two matches of the group stage,’’ Challengers media manager Ahmed Rakib told reporters on Tuesday regarding their skipper who is recovering from a hamstring injury.
When Nurul Hasan Sohan stepped in to flip the coin for Chattogram Challengers against Cumilla Warriors in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 2019, some eyebrows were raised.

This meant that Sohan was Chattogram's fourth skipper in this tournament after Rayad Emrit, Mahmudullah Riyad and Imrul Kayes led the team earlier in the tournament.
But both Mahmudullah and Imrul Kayes were out with an injury and thus Sohan had to step in.
Imrul missed the match because of a minor hamstring issue and Mahmudullah, who has been in and out of the tournament because of injuries, will soon be featuring for Chattogram.
Rakib further added that Imrul was suffering from a minor hamstring issue and he tried to play in this game but he was rested for safety precautions.
Chattogram play their next game in Sylhet against Khulna Titans on the 4th of January.
