Rangpur Rangers head coach Mark O’ Donell said on Tuesday that their top four batsmen need to face 80 balls in order to achieve success in the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League.

Rangpur lost both their matches in Dhaka and desperately looking forward to change their fortune in the port city when they take on Cumilla Warriors in their first game at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Wednesday.

“That’s T20 cricket. We have been competitive in the two games but have not got the segments right. The first one in the last three overs we got disappeared and we lost wicket in the power play. The last one we got the power play right but we lost way in the last four to five overs,’’ Mark told reporters at Chattogram on Tuesday.

“So looking for these small improvements.I think the more we play we should get better and it's all about putting in all together in T20 format that is very important. You need the top four to face 80 plus balls and early wicket create pressure .we just have to do that little bit better,’’ he said adding that they were 25 runs short in the last game against Chattogram Challengers.

That 20 -25 runs cost you and you can afford to coast that chase and take it easy.If you have to push and chase 170 or 180 total that you have to go from the start. It all about a small things, we have spoken about it and it about continues to do things that we do well for a longer period in the game,’’ he said.
