Wahab too unavailable for Dhaka after Tamim blow

Dhaka Platoon received a huge blow as Tamim Iqbal will be unavailable during their port city phase opener against host Chattogram Challengers at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on December 18.


Platoon will also miss the service of Wahab Riaz as he left the country to attend the wedding anniversary of his sister and will join them once they return back to the capital.


Wahab left after the Dhaka phase to attend the wedding ceremony of his sister. He is expected to arrive once we get back to Dhaka,’’ said team manager Ahsanullah Hasan.


‘’As for Tamim he is still in the hospital for treatment,’’ he said.

 ‘’I don’t think he will be fit to play our next match but we are hoping that he will be available in the following match,’’ he said.


The left-handed opener is having severe fever and did not travel with the team to Chattogram where the second phase of BBPL is scheduled to start from December 17.


All the teams are currently staying in the port city to prepare for the Chattogram phase.


Tamim is having viral fever and stayed in the Apollo Hospital for one night to have a clear look at his health status.


The left-handed opener is expected to leave the hospital in the evening but as he is unlikely to recover within a night to make himself available for their first game at his home town.


He will leave in the evening but he must recover fully to make him available as currently, he is looking to be very weak,’’ said Debashish Chowdhury.


In the evening we will do a scan for his groin injury. Whenever there is fever automatically any pain in the body gets higher. We have to see where he stands as far as his groin injury is concerned though it did not appear too serious,’’ he said.


 Though Tamim made just five runs in the first match of the BBPL against Rajshahi Royals the left-handed opener shrugged off his prolonged lean
