Preparation completes, everything goes fine: Sheikh Sohel

The special edition of the Bangladesh Premier League T20 to mark the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is all set to raise its curtain on Sunday with a grand opening ceremony sponsored by Basundhara.
The six-hour-long program that will be inaugurated by PM Sheikh Hasina and BCB is leaving no stone unturned to make this program a memorable one with the gate opening at 2.30 PM and the program starting two hours later.
Three private TV channels will telecast the program live from SBNS that includes News24 along with Gazi TV and Massranga TV.
BCB on Saturday gave a glimpse of what is expected to be staged by putting up a rehearsal show at the SBNS premises with local artist after the sunset that included dancing in the remix folk music with lighting.
From the early morning, BCB premises were overpopulated with security agencies personnel as they were making every sort of arrangements to make so the program run without any problem.
PM Sheikh Hasina is expected to arrive at 7:00 PM at SBNS and afterward, the program will be inaugurated by her with a short film of Bangabandhu.
The gate will close at 5.30. At the evening 05.00 pm (BST) the program will start first with the Bangladeshi singers, at 06.00 pm (BST), James from Bangladesh will to perform. At 07.30 pm (BST) singer, Momtaj will be on the stage and at 07.00 pm (BST), the Prime Minister will come and inaugurate the ceremony.

At 07.15 pm (BST) Sonu singer Nigam will perform along with another artist. At 08.30 pm (BST), Katrina Kaif and then Salman Khan. We have 10.30 to 11.00 pm (BST), that means, 04.00 pm (BST) to 11.00 pm (BST) is our scheduled line up for the function.

The tournament proper, with the participation of seven teams, will, however, roll into the ground from Wednesday at the home of cricket.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif is being seen as the main attraction of the ceremony that is going to last for almost five-long-hours while firework will also be an added attraction.
‘’The preparation is ending, everything is going well,’’ BBPL governing council chairman Sheikh Sohel told reporters at the SBNS on Saturday.
‘’The Indians (singers) wil come in while to rehearse. Now, now we will now test the fireworks experimentally,’’ he said adding Indian singer Sonu Nigam will sing a song on Bangabandhu
‘’I have sent Sonu Nigam a song on Bangabandhu, he will start with that. This time, the audience will feel different,’’ he said.
As it is an arrangement on Bangabandhu (Sheikh Mujibur Rahman) BCB has set many LED screens in the back where we will portray Mujib (birth) anniversary.
Shohel said that they are expecting a full house as the public can enjoy the program at the cheapest price in Bangladesh.
‘’Salman Khan and Katrina’s manager asked me why I would be selling their tickets at such low cost. Our VIP ticket is taka 10,000 (BDT), their tickets had never been sold at such low price in Bangladesh’s history,’’ said Shohel.
‘’Before Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan came at Bangabandhu National Stadium and the tickets were sold at taka 50-60 thousand,’’ he said.
Nizamuddin Chowdhury, chief executive officer of the Bangladesh Cricket Board said they were all but prepared to host the gala event and had divided the program in two parts as it will be a six-hour-long program.
‘Our logistics and stage preparations are going on. All of you know that our prime minister gave her consent to be present in the ceremony and inaugurate the tournament. So we are taking some adequate security arrangements for that,’ Nizamuddin told reporters in Mirpur on Saturday
‘We are expecting all the performers to arrive within today [Saturday] or the first half of tomorrow. It will just be a cultural program…We have divided the programs in two sections – before and after prime minister inaugurated the program
‘The players of all the participating teams are invited to attend the program. But there will be no especial segments with them like we saw in other countries during the opening ceremonies,’ he added.
