The  Bangladesh premier league is never out of mismanagement drama in the last six seasons and it continues these years too with the participation of twenty 20 biggest brand name Chris Gayle.

Gayle was picked by Chattogram Challengers from a recent BPL players’ draft event, held on November 17 and during the program, it was informed that he would be available for all the matches of the special edition of the tournament.

However, in a recent interview with ESPNCricinfo, Gayle expressed his surprise to be picked by one of the BPL teams and claimed that he didn’t even know how his name reached the BPL.

Gayle also said that he would not play in the Big Bash this season as he planned to take a break for the rest of the year.

‘I am not going to the Big Bash. I’m not sure what cricket will come up, I don’t even know how my name reached the BPL, but I have been drafted in a team and I don’t even know how that happened,’ Gayle was quoted as saying by the website.

'The Bangladesh cricket board Chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury he find no reason with Gayle non-participation in the tournament after checking all the process.

'We maintain all the standard procedures when any national cricketer’s name came for the players’ draft,’ Nizamuddin told reporters in Mirpur on Wednesday.

‘Either a player or his agent can show his interest and put the name in the list. All the things happen through a process. I have checked the process and everything was done maintaining a standard process.

‘We are contacting with the players’ agents. You know that the respective teams are making contact with the agents. Hopefully the matter will be sorted out,’ he added.

Chattogram team director Jalal Yunus said they also had negotiations with Gayle after the draft and feel they would fall in deep troble in his absence as they build their around Chris Gayle

‘We picked Gayle at the first opportunity. All our plans were made with him in mind. Now, if he doesn’t come, we will be in big trouble,’ he said.

‘After picking him we held discussions with him about payment. But we have not heard from him for the last few days. Now we hear this... I don’t know where the problem lies,’ he added.

The special edition of BPL will get underway on December 11 with Chattogram taking on Sylhet Thunder in the opening fixture of the tournament in Mirpur.
