The Women’s World T20 will be the third multi-nation tournament for Bangladesh women’s national team this year, who were crowned champions in both of the previous competitions – Women’s Asia Cup and Women’s World T20 qualifier.
Bangladesh women’s captain Salma Khatun stressed the need to adapting to the conditions of the West Indies, where the global T20 event will take place from 9 to 24 November. The spin-heavy team will certainly have to study the conditions in the Caribbean, where the pacers are more likely to gain advantage from the wickets.

“We are going 10-12 days beforehand to adapt to the conditions. We don’t know about conditions, weather and wickets. As we are going early, hopefully we will do well by adjusting to everything,” she said.
Bangladesh appeared to have lost the track when it mattered the most as their dismal performance resulted in Pakistan women completing a clean sweep over the Tigresses in a four-T20I series.
Bangladesh’s fortunes nosedived ahead of the all-important Women’s World T20, but their skipper thinks the team will take confidence from their win in the one-off ODI against Pakistan.
“After the match against Pakistan, we started a camp here. We have played two [warm-up] matches as well. So, many of our girls have made a comeback. We need that comeback. Since we won a match against Pakistan in ODIs, we are confident. Hopefully, we will play well with this confidence there,” said Salma.
Placed in Group A, Bangladesh will be facing West Indies, England, Sri Lanka, and South Africa on 9, 12, 14, and 18 November, respectively.
