Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan will be available from the opening game of the Asia Cup, confirmed BCB officials on Thursday.
The Bangladesh national team have been preparing in the hot and humid conditions with the aim of achieving a new milestone in the multi-nation tournament.
The doubts regarding Shakib’s participation were quashed through his effortless batting in the nets on Thursday. It seemed like the Tigers are now preparing with all their based covered.

Bangladesh may still be struggling to make their mark in Test cricket but when it comes to shorter formats of the game, they possess all the mettle to give a run for money to the biggest teams in the world.
“So far yes [he is available from the opening game],” Bangladesh strength and conditioning coach Mario Villavarayan confirmed Cricfrenzy on Thursday.
Mario added that Shakib batted well in the nets and informed that he doesn’t find the southpaw to be struggling with pain. The former Sri Lankan is optimistic about the premier all-rounder.
“Not that I see [there was no sign of discomfort due to pain],” he said. “He batted really well in the nets.”
Though the ace all-rounder will require a surgery at some point in the coming days, it seems as of now he is concentrating totally on the mega event by sweating out in the rigorous training session at the Dubai Sports City’s ICC Academy.
