Bangladesh finally ended their losing streak in T20Is after completing their record-breaking chase of 215 runs against Sri Lanka in the ongoing Nidahas Trophy. After losing the first match to India, the Men in Red & Green showed great character and mounted a comeback.

With this lose, Sri Lanka have become the first team to have reached 50 defeats in T20Is. Bangladesh are also standing on 49 alongside New Zealand albeit the latter have lost three more matches in tie-breakers.

Sri Lanka captain Dinesh Chandimal gave credit to the batsman for posting such mammoth total and said that his side will try to make things better in the coming matches as their bowling unit was not up to the mark against Bangladesh.

Really good game of cricket. Credit to the batters for putting a really good total. As a bowling unit, we didn't execute well. I'm sure they will come back in the next game. There were a few plans. It was too good a wicket. I'm sure we'll execute our plans in the next game. Looking forward to the next game.

Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah Riyad was pleased with his team’s batting performance. He appreciated the way Mushfiq played to turn things around in their favor.

He said, “Game of quite a bit of nerves. It was a good wicket to bat on. Batters showed the capability that we have. When we started batting, Tamim and Liton gave us a great start. Mushy was outstanding in the way he held his nerves. Knew that they might bring Akila early, that's why we sent Liton at the top of the order.”

According to the man of the match—Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh were badly in need of such a victory. He also said that the Tigers allowed too many runs. However, he gave credit to the openers – Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das for giving them a flying start.

Mushfiq stated, “We badly needed that win. Can't ask much more than this. Gave away too many runs. 190 would have been chaseable. Liton and Tamim were outstanding to set it up. Dedicate this knock to my son, who's only 35 days old. At the end of the day, the result is the most important thing."

Regarding his injury during the match, the keeper-batsman said, "It was just a cramp. Hopefully, I will recover soon.”
