The player draft for the 10th edition of the PSL is scheduled for this Saturday in Gwadar, a port city in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. This marks the first time the draft will be held in Pakistan’s largest province by area. Previous drafts were hosted in Lahore, Islamabad, and Dubai.
The eight Bangladeshi players in the Platinum and Diamond categories are Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Mahmudullah Riyad, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Rishad Hossain, Tanzim Hasan, and Tawhid Hridoy.
This year’s draft features 510 registered players from 19 countries. Many of these players, who missed out on IPL contracts, have now turned to the PSL for opportunities.
As per PSL rules, each franchise can retain up to eight players before the draft. Defending champions Islamabad United, two-time winners Lahore Qalandars, and 2019 champions Quetta Gladiators have retained eight players each.
Meanwhile, Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, and Peshawar Zalmi have retained seven players apiece.
