After a decade with the national team, pacer Taskin believes he has entered the prime phase of his career. Despite facing ups and downs, injuries, and occasional poor performances, Taskin has consistently been backed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
To manage his fitness, he was even rested from Test cricket at times. Now, Taskin feels it’s his turn to repay the faith and deliver his best on the field.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, the 29-year-old pacer expressed his gratitude for the support he has received throughout his career.
“To be honest, I feel like my time to give back has just started. The board has supported me for so many years. I’ve gained experience, and now it’s my responsibility to perform well wherever I play. Please pray for my health; if I stay fit, I believe I can perform well,” Taskin said.
Taskin shared that he was happier about executing his plans effectively than merely taking 7 wickets. He also praised the sporting nature of the BPL wickets this season, saying they would help players prepare for international cricket.
“The conditions in this year’s BPL are sporting. It’s a bit challenging because you can’t get away with loose bowling. Both batters and bowlers have opportunities here. The wickets are somewhat flat, similar to what we might face in Pakistan and Dubai during the Champions Trophy. It’s good to experience such conditions in advance,” he explained.
