Nahid, who gained attention with stellar bowling performances for the national team in the Caribbean, has carried his form into the BPL. In his first match for Rangpur Riders against Dhaka, he bowled three economical overs, conceding just 11 runs without taking a wicket.

However, he made a significant impact in the second match against Sylhet Strikers, taking 4 wickets for 27 runs in 4 overs, earning him the Player of the Match award.

With the BPL spanning nearly six weeks and featuring up to 12 league matches per team, plus potential playoff games, the question arises: is the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) taking adequate precautions to manage Nahid’s workload?

Rangpur Riders’ captain Nurul Hasan Sohan addressed these concerns, saying, “Every pacer has a system in place for maintaining themselves. Nahid knows how to take care of himself, and the BCB’s physios and trainers are monitoring him. I don’t see this as a major issue. Today’s pacers are well-aware of what they need to do to stay fit.”

Nahid was introduced in the fifth over against Sylhet, where he claimed two crucial wickets. When asked about the team’s approach to managing him, Sohan explained, “He’s bowling freely and utilizing his pace. Whenever he has any doubts, he shares them with me. He’s giving his 100%, and that’s what we expect from him. As long as he follows the process, he’ll keep delivering.”
