Bangladesh wicket-keeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim is likely to feature for the Dhaka franchise in the upcoming edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

The development was confirmed by a reliable source to Cricfrenzy on Sunday. 

Meanwhile, If all goes well, Dhaka will be under a new ownership in the upcoming season.

“Mushfiq will play for Dhaka next season. All is finalized but the deal is not done yet. Apart from this, the ownership of Dhaka is also changing, Mushfiq will play under the new franchise,” said the source.

Mushfiqur featured for Sylhet Strikers in the last edition of BPL and managed to finish the tournament as the runners-up. 

Seven teams participated in the last BPL, but one team is going to add in the next BPL. Rajshahi franchise likely to join this domestic T20 tournament of the country.

“Eight teams are more likely to participate in the upcoming BPL instead of seven teams. If everything goes well, Rajshahi is going to return. But who is getting ownership of it is not yet finalized” the source added.
