Bangladesh ODI skipper praised national team left-arm spinner Nazmul Hossain Apu for his helping nature to a lot of underprivileged people in his home town, Narayanganj which is considered as one of the hot spots of coronavirus patients in Bangladesh.

National team left-arm spinner took the initiative to provide food assistance to the poor families in the city that has been the epicentre of the outbreak in Bangladesh. As a resident of Narayanganj, Apu started to provide food to the needy families. Where later Tamim got involved to help Apu for his welfare work.

Tamim comes down to his official Facebook page and laud Apu for his helping nature to the underprivileged people. Where he posted a picture of Apu measuring rice and packeting one by one. "Many of you know the man who is measuring the rice with his own hands in the picture. His celebration on the field has given you joy many times. Now he is working to make helpless people smile. He is national team cricketer Nazmul Islam Apu." Tamim posted on his Facebook page.

The veteran left-handed batsman also said about how Apu the left arm-spinner is working relentlessly since the beginning of this coronavirus situation in Narayanganj. Which was lately backed by Tamim himself and many others.

"Apu has been working relentlessly since the beginning of this critical situation of corona in Narayanganj. He continued to provide food aid to the needy day after day by himself and with the help of others as much as he could. I tried my best to help him. Many more are also helping him. Today, many people across the country are standing beside the helpless during this disaster." Tamim also shared about what perspective of Apu he liked the most, "What I liked about Apu is, not only he has taken initiative, but also he has collected everything, measured, packeted, delivered to the door of the people. Not once or twice, but repeatedly."

The ODI skipper believes when a national team cricketer comes down to human service like Apu did, it gives a positive message to the society. Which is an example of how one must grow up as a human, not being only a cricketer.

"When a national team cricketer jumps into human service like this, it gives a very good message to the society. Many times we are being judged only by cricket. Apu is showing, growing up as a human is the most important." Tamim Iqbal concluded.
