Dhaka Platoon captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza said he needs three or four games to get into his zone after returning to the competitive cricket following a long hiatus.
It was Mashrafe’s first match since the disappointing World Cup mission in which he took just one wicket in eight matches.
On his first match in the BBPL, in which his side tasted a humiliating nine-wicket defeat to Rajshahi Royals, Mashrafe couldn’t do anything worthy. He remained wicket-less after conceding 18 runs in three overs. But in batting, he scored 18 not out off 10 with two sixes that gave the bowlers something to defend. However batting was not his prime job.

The most successful captain of the country therefore felt that some matches more could help him get his mojo back.
“I don’t think I should set up any target for BPL. What I can do, is to try my best for the team because it’s the main thing. The franchise spent much money to form a team, so that should get a reward from us,” Mashrafe said on Thursday.
“Like other players, I also want to perform my best. I won’t say that I didn’t have any hesitation, coming to play after long days. When a player remains away from the game, he obviously faces some problems in his first game. That is also applicable for me. Hopefully, it will be all okay after three or four matches.”
Mashrafe said he has still some back problem but he is reluctant to give it any thought.
“It’s natural that the players will carry some niggles. In the past, I overcame those niggles and hopefully, it will be okay.”
