In an otherwise a pretty disappointing India tour, Mushfiqur Rahim was the only shining spot for Bangladesh team. The dependable batsman hit a match-winning knock in the first T20 in Delhi to help Bangladesh win their maiden victory against India in shortest format of the cricket before he struck two half-centuries in the Test series.
His fifty in the second Test, a maiden day-night Test for Bangladesh also helped the side take the Test to third day when the so called Tigers found them in a position of losing the game inside two days.

He is the only batsman in national set-up, currently looked to be in the form. Indeed always he finds himself in good touch as he is the only senior batsman of the side who plays domestic cricket regularly and make runs in abundance.
As his side Khulna Tigers, in which he is the captain, gears up for their first match in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) by taking on Chattogram Challengers, Mushfiqur Rahim said he would try to translate his current form to the tournament and help Khulna to make a force to reckon with in the event.
Mushfiqur’s form would be crucial in Khulna’s aspiration to lift the BBPL trophy too and the diminutive batsman knew it very well.
“I always try to make runs, wherever I play—be it the domestic cricket or the International cricket. By the grace of Allah, I have been in good rhythm now. I will try to use it to best effect in the BBPL,” Mushfiqur said after the side’s practice session at National Cricket Academy in Mirpur on Wednesday.
“I will try to make a significant contribution. I know that my performance could play a vital role in winning the match. We also want to do well as team.”
