Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah Riyad won the toss and opted to bowl first in the three-match T20 series opener against India at Arun Jaietly Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday.
The Tigers handed debut to Mohammad Naim, a tall left-handed opening batsman who was the second highest run-getter in the 2019 Dhaka Premier League.
Naim recently made two fifties in Bangladesh A's turnaround one-day series win over Sri Lanka in October.
This is the match, Bangladesh is playing after the two years ban of Shakib Al Hasan who failed to report corrupt approaches of bookies and thereby breached the code of conduct of ICC.

Bangladesh is also without the service of key player Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Saifuddin.
However Aminul Islam Biplob, the leg-spinner who impressed on his debut with a four-wicket haul against Zimbabwe in tri-series T20 tournament in Bangladesh before sustaining an injury came back into the side.
"It's a great opportunity for other guys to step up in absence of Shakib and Tamim," Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah said after the toss.
India captain Rohit Sharma said he also would like to bowl first if he won the toss.
"We would have bowled first as well considering the dew factor," Rohit said.
"We will have to access the wicket at the start to see what the fighting score is. This is an opportunity to test out players who have done well in domestic cricket. We have gone with three spinners, two medium-pacers and an all-rounder in Dube."
