All-round Saif inspires Bangladesh take series by 2-1 over Sri Lanka

Saif Hasan came up with sterling all-round performance as he struck a scintillating century and snared 2-25 with cherry to help Bangladesh A record a 98-run win over Sri Lanka A by D/L method in the third and series-deciding match at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday.
By virtue of this victory, Bangladesh took the one-day series by 2-1 after settling for a draw in two longer version matches earlier.

The second string Bangladesh team lost the first match by 7 wickets before winning the last two games—with a thrilling one-wicket victory in second and now the third one by 98 runs.
Thanks to Saif’s 110 ball-117, studded by 12 fours and three sixes, Bangladesh A piled-up 322-9. However due to rain, Sri Lanka A’s got the revised target of 229 to win in 24.4 overs but they were restricted to 130-6 to concede the defeat.
Opener Saif’s 117 was complemented by his fellow opener Mohammad Naim’s 66. Skipper Mohammad Mithun was the other notable scorer with 32.
Shiran Fernadno claimed 4-50 while Viswa Fernando snared 3-69 for the hosts in bowling.
Kamindu Mendis was the highest scorer for Sri Lanka A with 55. For Bangladesh A Ebadat Hossain and Saif Hassan took two wickets apiece.
