NCL Tier 1: Khulna, Dhaka in command

Veteran left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak continued showing his value in the domestic first-class cricket as he claimed four-wicket to help Khulna reach a commanding position against Rangpur Division in National Cricket League’s (NCL) Tier-1 game at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Saturday.
The match though looked to head towards a draw after Khulna reached 192-3 in its first innings on day three before Razzak’s 4-81, shot Rangpur out for 227.
Khulna still is trailing by 35 runs but with seven wickets at hands, they are on course of taking a seizable lead with Imrul Kayes and Soumya Sarka batting on 29 and 8 runs respectively.
Opener Robiul Islam Robi and Imran Uzzaman gave the side a solid start, having shared 136-run for the opening stand. Robi made 76 while Imran scored 71.

Rangpur earlier resumed the day on 169-5 and could add 58 runs to their overnight total to be bowled out for 227.
Apart from Razzak’s four-for, pacers Al-Amin Hossain and Rubel Hossain grabbed two wickets apiece.
In another game of the Tier-1 Dhaka Division took a 249 runs lead over Rajshahi Division with four wickets at hands at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Before the bails were drawn for day three, Dhaka reached 206-6 in its second innings with Taibur Rahman batting on 67 alongside Sumon Khan who was on 1.
Raiqbul Hasan scored 65 and set the platform after Dhaka Division made a shaky start in their second innings.
Dhaka however gained a 43-run lead in the first innings after bowling Rajshahi out for 197. Rajshahi began the day with 173-6.
Mushfiqur Rahim scored highest 75 for Rajshahi while opener Jahurul Islam Omee made 64.
Sumon Khan took 5-50, which was complemented by Salahuddin Shakil’s 3-47.
Dhaka earlier made 240 in their first innings before being all out.
