U-23 series: India consigns Bangladesh to 49-run defeat in 3rd match

India Under-23 team took a 2-1 lead in the five-match one-day series after beating Bangladesh counterpart by 49 by D/L method in the third match at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday.

The rain forced to make the match a 22-over affair after India posted 114 for no loss in 22 overs. But according to the D/L method Bangladesh’s revised target was set 174 in 22 overs. However, the Tigers were bowled out for 124 in 21.4 overs.
Bangladesh lost the first match by 34 runs before winning the second one by 5 runs in D/L method.
Mohidul Islam Ankon made the highest for the side with 50 runs while Ariful Haque scored 23. Sumon Khan was the only other batsman to reach double digit figure with 11 runs.
A Sheth claimed 3-11 for India U23 while Arshdeep Singh and Hrithik Shokeen took two wickets apiece.
India was sent to bat first but their openers remained unscathed before rain interrupted the proceedings of the game. Yashasvi Jaiswal hammered 53 not out while Aryan Juyal was not out on 51.
