Living in a war-torn country makes you tougher always and Rashid Khan is no exception as he made it clear that he would play the Tri-nation T20 series final against Bangladesh on Tuesday even if he is 10 percent fit.
The Afghan skipper sustained a hamstring injury in the last game against Bangladesh and went out of the field. But he left everyone in surprised state by coming to the ground again after 20 minutes and bowled his quota. The pain was visible but he braved it to continue the game.

The main thing was to create an example to play for country with heart and soul even with dangerous injury, said Rashid Khan.
“I think I should not have bowled but when the team needs you, you have to be there. Especially, from a country we are in, we don’t really focus a lot on ours and when it comes to the country we can give ourselves whether we don’t have a hand as well,” Rashid said here on Monday.
“As we have seen Asghar Afghan had an appendix operation in Zimbabwe in the qualifying round (of the world cup), he came in the field after four days of the operation and said no, I will play. The youngster are learning from it.”“If I have 10 per cent chance to play, I will go for it because I love my country and my country want to win the game, this is the most important thing to me than myself.””
And he hopes that he will be fine for the final despite his decision to play the last game through injury didn’t go down well for him.
“The main reason behind that was- I wanted to sure about whether I was able to bowl or not. The physio and coach did not want me to go down. I said no. I wanted to be sure that the injury was big or it can be improved for the next game. I bowled two overs, and it was fine. But later on, I had to struggle while fielding, which made it worse. Now, I hope it will be fine tomorrow.”
Rashid however thinks that even if he doesn’t play the final, it won’t disrupt the team as they have good backup options.
“We have the backup option. We have Mujeeb, Nabi and Sharaf- a left-arm spinner and good all-rounder. I don’t think (it will create a problem),” he concluded.
