Bangladesh, oozing with confidence, will take on West Indies in a must-win game in a bid to stay alive in the semifinal race in the ongoing World Cup match at Taunton on Monday.

Bangladesh, who have accumulated three points from four games so far, will play their fifth game in the tournament when they take on the Caribbean’s in the smallest ground of the competition.

The match starts at 3.30 PM (Bangladesh Standard Time).

Tigers began the tournament in impressive fashion with a 21-run victory over South Africa but suffered two successive loss in the following two games as New Zealand defeated them by two wickets while England humiliated them by 106 runs.

Bangladesh were looking to bounce back against Sri Lanka and get them back on track but had to share points as the game was washed out without a ball being bowled due to heavy rain that eventually increased the importance of this match.

On the other hand, West Indies also have three points in four games after winning one, losing two and a washed-out game.

Bangladesh will be confident against West Indies because of their recent success against them as they have beaten the opposition for three straight times and that too in quite dominating fashion in the recent tri-series in Ireland to become an unbeaten champions.

However, West Indies side that they faced off in tri-series is a vastly different side now as they have bolstered their strength with the inclusion of their premier players like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell and others though Tiger will be confident since they even beat a full-strength West Indies side in quite several times.

Both teams met each other in ODI cricket for 37 times, amongst which West Indies won 21 and Bangladesh 14, while two other matches were rained out. In World Cup, They took on each other four times and West Indies won three matches while the other match was washed out and therefore it’s the match also for Bangladesh to set their World Cup record right.

Shakib Al Hasan who sustained a thigh injury during the game against England was declared fit to play but Mushfiqur Rahim’s wrist injury during the practice session on Saturday came as blow though later it was revealed that he did not sustain any fracture and is likely to make it in the playing xi.

Bangladesh could be tempted to bring up fast bowler Rubel Hossain, replacing Mehidy Hasan Miraj considering the small size of the ground Taunton while if Mushfiqur finally doesn’t play, Liton Das will be automatic choice.
