Bangladesh pace bowling coach Courtney Walsh said on Friday that he is delighted to see the competition among Tigers pace unit for a spot in the playing XI while insisted changes might take place due to injury concern over available pace bowlers.
Mashrafe bin Mortaza and Mohammad Saifuddin took rest to recover from their respective injuries but Walsh insisted the pacers have slight injuries but have time for recovery before Bangladesh face South Africa on Sunday.
The skipper, who has not missed a match due to injury for four and a half years, was forced to leave the field midway through the innings and did not bat after pulling a hamstring in the India game.

Saifuddin suffered back spasm while Mustafizur pulled a cuff muscle during the match.
Walsh also said there was a little possibility of changing the pace attack by including Rubel Hosain in place of Saifuddin, but the final decision will depend on the latter’s fitness and the wicket.
Consistently Saifuddin has been playing, Rubel has not played a lot of big games leading up to the World Cup. But its good to have him, if we go with three pacers I think we will go with the guys that have been playing so far,’’ said
‘’The thing is that with Saifuddin injury a spot is opening up, so its difficult to make a call now. You got to play who is fitter on the day, if saifuddin doesn’t come out tomorrow then we have to think about other options, but if he comes through then headache is for the selectors to which one to rebound. It’s a good place to be at I mean to have that sort of depth,’’ he said.
‘’In that moment we are pretty confident that we have enough bowlers to play if someone breaks down at the last moment. Tomorrow will be a good day to decide all about that. Its good to have that competition going,’’ he concluded.
