The Caribbean superstar Chris Henry Gayle is fast approaching his 40th birthday but he is more confident than ever before.  He gave his warning to the quick bowlers out there that he is still capable of hitting them out of the park.  Chris Gayle says bowlers are still petrified of him and claimed he is the most dangerous batsman in cricket’s history.

"Youngsters coming at my head - it's not as easy as it was like one time before," Gayle told

"I was quicker before. But they'll be weary. They know what the Universe Boss is capable of. I'm sure they will have it in the back of their mind, 'Hey, this is the most dangerous batsman they've ever seen in cricket.'"

Chris Gayle backs his big words with ability too; he has scored over 10 thousands runs in the ODI cricket, he is the second highest in the list of six hitters in ODI cricket with 314 sixes so far, he would like to surpass Shahid Afridi’s 351 Sixes in this tournament. Its tough but for Chris Gayle its not impossible.

Gayle is enjoying this battle with the young fast bowlers, he said.

"But I'm enjoying it. I'm always enjoying the battle against fast bowlers, it's good. Sometimes those things actually give you extra drive as a batter. When you have a battle, I like those challenges."

Chris Gayle says love of the fans and the love for the game has kept him going for this long time.

"To be honest with you, it's the fan, it's the love of the game. The fans are always asking you for more sixes. Those things give you that extra drive. If you're enjoying it, it's always easy (to keep playing) and I’m enjoying it. I've been having a lot of fun on the field, and it's a great bunch of guys as well – that's important.“ He said.

This will be Gayle’s last World Cup after that he will retire from ODI cricket. And he believes this is the best time to do it.

"Sometimes as sportsmen, they don't know when to walk away. Because sometimes you might feel at your peak, but eventually you have to leave the game at some point in time.”
