Difficult for Bangladesh to make it top four: Anil Kumble

India’s legendary leg spinner Anil Kumble mulls the top four spot as difficult for Bangladesh despite their tri-series win in Ireland.
He pointed out Bangladesh’s lack of consistency behind his suggestion.
In this World Cup Anil Kumble sees West Indies ahead of Bangladesh to through to the knockout stages.

“Their consistency has been an issue. In a tournament like this, I think West Indies could make it to the top four but not Bangladesh, because of their inconsistency. It is going to be a difficult task and I don’t think they will make to the top four. “
Bur despite the fact, Anil Kumble heaped a shower of praise on Bangladesh a lot and made it clear that Bangladesh is not a team that can be taken lightly anymore.
“You can’t take Bangladesh lightly anymore. They have done really really well over the last few years,” he remarked.
He also applauded Bangladesh’s senior players and having praised them, he mentioned that Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s captaincy is instrumental behind Bangladesh’s success in recent years.
“Mashrafe Mortaza is a very good leader. He has rallied around the team and takes the right decisions at right moment. When he will be captaining, one will see a different Bangladesh team,” he added.
Kumble however added that the youngsters of Bangladesh should perform at regular basis and only then they will be the team not to be written off.
“ Seniors players will certainly do well but it’s the young players like Liton Das, Soumya sarkar have to step up and prop up their game. It’s not just about playing one or two innings”
