Rivalry heats up between Mashrafee and Shakib

Can Mashrafee bin Mortaza end his World Cup campaign as the leading wicket taker of Bangladesh as he is too far away from country’s leading wicket-taker Shakib al Hasan.
Considering the performance of Mashrafee in the just concluded tour of Ireland and the way Shakib’s role is chalked it is not impossible as there is every possibility that the Tigers skipper end his World Cup campaign on a personal high.
While Mashrafee looked to be going after wickets Shakib seemed to be eyeing to contain the batsmen during campaign in Ireland that saw Tigers earn their maiden multi-nation tournament.
Mash took six wickets in four matches while Shakib picked two from three matches only indicates the form of two leading bowler of the country.

Tiger all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has played three World Cups so far for Bangladesh. In these three campaigns he took 23 wickets in 21 matches.
Shakib is in the top among the Bangladeshi bowlers in terms of wickets in the World Cup. His economy rate is 4.99 and average 35.78, another spinner Abdur Razzak is on the second position for Bangladesh.
Razzak played two World Cups and took 20 wickets, his economy rate is 4.63 and bowling average is 28.20 in the World Cup. Tiger captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is on the third spot.
Mashrafe has played 16 World Cup matches so far and took 18 wickets with 4.98 economy. His bowling average is 36.05 in the World Cup. Pacer Rubel Hossain and former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmood Sujon is on 4th and 5th position respectively.
