Mushfiq enters into the record book

By scoring 35 runs against Ireland, Musfiqur Rahim broke into elite list of wicketkeeper batsmen who scored more than 5000 runs.
Musfiqur played a total of 204 matches in his career and scored 5522 runs, among them in 178 innings he played as a wicketkeeper batsman. Wednesday’s 35 runs against Ireland took him past the landmark of 5000 runs as a wicketkeeper batsman.
Before him there were only 4 wicketkeeper batsmen who got past this landmark. On the top of the list there is Kumar Sangakara who scored 13341 runs in 340 matches with an average of 43.63.
After him, Indian legendary wicketkeeper batsman MS Dhoni secured the spot. He scored 10500 runs in 289 matches, with an average of 50.72 runs. At the 3rd, 4th position we have former Aussie wicketkeeper batsman Adam Gilchirst, and Zimbabwean wicketkeeper batsman Andy Flower.
Mushfiqur Rahim scored 4 centuries and 31 half centuries in his 5000 runs as a wicketkeeper.
