Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan admitted that butterflies had flown under his stomach as he wore the national jersey after a six-month break.
Shakib, who recently recovered from a finger injury which prevented him from joining the national team for the tour of New Zealand, showed his class in the come-back match with an unbeaten half-century along with a tidy bowling spell.
Though he was playing in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad he did not feature regularly and according to Shakib he got back the confidence in the practice game.

Though Bangladesh lost the game by 88 runs Shakib performed well both with bat and ball.
“I was playing an international match after six months. There was a bit of nervousness,’’ Shakib told reporters at Dublin on Wednesday.
‘’The practice match helped me get back into the groove. It gave me confidence. But I am relieved to start well. I want to continue this way,’’ he said.
Shakib said that their clinical performance against West Indies will help them have some confidence ahead of the tournament and more so as they came back strongly despite being pushed by the West Indies at certain juncture of the match.
West Indies were 205-3 in 41st over before Bangladesh came back strongly on the back of unified bowling effort and later followed that with a superb batting display.
“We didn’t start the game well. The way they started, at one stage we thought they’d get 300 or 320. Miraz and I bowled in the most important phase of the innings. We bowled well in a partnership, which was the turning point in the game. We got couple of breakthroughs. The pace bowlers came back well too,’’ said Shakib.
“Everyone will get confidence from this performance. We don’t play these clinically on most occasions. Everyone is confident, and it is evident in their body language,’’ he concluded
