Bangladesh skipper Mashrafee bin Mortaza insisted that they are required to make lot of permutation combination to make the playing XI due to unavailability of Mahmudullah as a bowler in the ongoing tri-nation.

Bangladesh received a serious injury scare ahead of the forthcoming World Cup after an MRI report of batsman Mahmudullah revealed a grade-3 tear on his shoulder.

Mahmudullah had initially injured himself a few months ago but aggravated it during the first Test against New Zealand on the recent tour when he dived on the field twice.

An MRI test was conducted in New Zealand and it revealed that he had sustained a grade-3 Labrum tear, which often requires a surgery for complete healing.

Though he can bat Bangladesh management opted not to risk him by giving the ball to complete couple of overs in the middle and according to Mashrafee he is worried about getting the service of bowler Mahmudullah in the World Cup.

“At this condition I don’t see him bowling in this tournament. I am worried about his bowling in the world cup.

‘’If Riad can’t bowl then we would have to think about a lot of things. Someone may have a bad day or fall into injury. If that happens then we have to think about others to do the job

‘’Who would play as the second spinner with Shakib, you have to sort it out. If Riad bowls then the situation changes. Will I play Mosaddek or work with Soumya or Sabbir, we have to find that out too,’’ he said.

‘’He has no problem while batting but if he hurts his shoulder while bowling it can affect his batting too. For this I don’t wanna risk him in bowling. If we need him in world cup for few overs then he may bowl a few overs,’’ he said.

‘’We wouldn’t put pressure on Riad  for bowling, I don’t his shoulder to get worse by bowling. That can affect his batting too. Bowling is upto him. When he feels, he can bowl only then I will think about him bowling,’’ he said.
