West indies won their first match against Ireland by 196 runs, the two openers from windies made a world record in that match.

After winning the toss Ireland put West Indies to bat, Shai Hope and John Campbell scored a mindblowing opening partnership of 365 runs. This is now the highest opening partnership in the ODI’s.

Campbell scored 179 runs with the help of 15 fours and 6 sixes and his partner Hope scored 170 runs with 22 fours and 2 sixes. Their solidity in the crease provided west Indies a huge total of 381 runs.

Barry Mccarthy took the wickets of this two openers. After coming on to bat Ireland feeled the heat of Kemar Roach. He took the wickets of William Porterfield (12)  and Paul sterling (0). After that Ireland lost their wickets in regular interval. Nurse was the pick of the bowler for the windies, he took 4 wickets by giving 51 runs.

At the end they got all out in 34.4 overs at 185 runs. Kevin O’Brain scored the highest 68 runs for the Irish.  Other than that wicketkeeper Garry Wilson scored 30 and Balbirnie scored 29 runs for them.
