Acting Bangladesh Test skipper Mahmudullah said on Saturday that they are desperate to draw level against Zimbabwe in the ongoing two-match Test series as their back is against the wall after losing the series-opener in Sylhet.
Zimbabwe defeated Bangladesh by 151 runs in the first match to earn a 1-0 lead over the Tigers. They will face each other once again in the second Test starting on November 11, in Dhaka.

Bangladesh are on a four-match losing streak and lost seven of their last eight Tests following the historic win against Australia last year. But the defeat against Zimbabwe, who have earned their first overseas Test win after 17 years, came as a big blow.
“We have our backs against the wall. We have to come back strongly. There is no other option,” Mahmudullah told reporters at the pre-match press conference.
“After the Sylhet match, we all sat together and discussed the positives in that match and the mistakes that cannot be repeated in the next match. These things have been pointed out. If we stay strong in some areas, then we can perform well,” he said.
The hosts do need to comeback strongly in order to revive their image that has been affected by their prolonged lean patch in Tests.
