Apart from proving his bowling proficiency, Saifuddin proved his ability to swing the bat in the first ODI against Zimbabwe. And now he is looking forward to testing the West Indies batsmen in the upcoming series by swinging the ball.

The all-rounder was not part of the Bangladesh squad when they won both the ODI and T20I series against West Indies in the Caribbean just a few months ago. The Tigers will once again face the Caribbean side but this time in their own den and this will provide a golden opportunity for the likes of Saifuddin to become strong contenders for ODI-team spots ahead of the ICC World Cup next year.

“I watch their videos time and again. A number of their batsmen are very attacking, such as Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmeyer. I think about how to bowl against them. I’ve started working on it.

“They are strong against pace bowling. But most batsmen struggle against swing. We will work on it,” said Saifuddin.

Zimbabwe bowler Kyle Jarvis swung the ball quite well in their Test-victory against Bangladesh and showed that enough swing can be extracted from the seemingly spin-friendly wickets, where the Tigers chose not to experiment with fast-bowlers. Saifuddin can also try and execute his plans if given the freedom and the opportunity when Bangladesh take on West Indies.
