Saifuddin eyeing a place in World Cup squad

After spending periods in and out of the team, Mohammad Saifuddin finally made his mark in Bangladesh’s last ODI series against Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh will host West Indies for a full-fledged series between November 21 and December 17. With his eyes set on the opportunities ahead, Saifuddin is currently working on his bowling as the team management has shown interest in his bowling all-round abilities on quite a few occasions.
The Tigers are building a team centering on the core group of senior cricketers ahead of the ICC World Cup and the promising players, who are raring to cement their place in the ODI fold, will try to make the best of the upcoming series.
“We have the World Cup ahead. Doing well in the West Indies-series is important. The last series is gone now; no point thinking about that. I know I have to work very hard,” the 20-year-old said.
“You guys saw me in the last series. We have to work on our bowing regularly. We cannot just sit around. There is no end to learning. Learning new things it will eventually benefit me.”
Though the all-rounder revealed his keenness to learn new things, he admits that there is not much time to try something completely new and stressed the need to focus on his strengths.
“I’m not working on anything new right now. We have a lot games ahead. It takes time to learn something new. It’s not possible to do something new in so little time. I’m just trying to improve my strengths,” said Saifuddin.
