Khulna keep Rangpur in check

Rangpur Division are trailing by trailing by 135 runs with six wickets remaining in the first innings of their Tier 1 clash against Khulna Division.
Starting the second day’s play at 217/8, Khulna added 44 runs for the last two wickets while Moinul Islam reached his half-century.
Robiul Haque, Sajedul Islam, and Tanbir Hayder took three wickets each for Rangpur in the first innings.
Khulna also bowled well, taking wickets at regular intervals. Rangpur posted 126 runs for four wickets with only Mehedi Maruf (42) and Sohrawardi Shuvo (35) scoring past 15 runs.

Shuvo remained unbeaten at the end of day two and will resume the innings for Rangpur on the third day along with Hayder, who is not out on 5 runs.
Khulna are currently the bottom-placed team in Tier 1 with one loss and three draws in five matches. Their fifth-round clash against Barisal Division was abandoned due to rain last week. Rangpur, on the other hand, are at the second position in Tier 1, with one win and four draws – the same as the table-toppers, Rajshahi Division.
