Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam dealt a double blow but Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza steered his side 85-2 on the opening day of the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium’s inaugural Test on Saturday.
At lunch, he was batting on 52, hitting his eighth half-century with Sean Williams on 13.

Taijul Islam who shared the new ball with only specialist pace bowler Abu Jayed Rahi made early inroads, dismissing opener Brian Chari for 13 after he needlessly charged one that went straight.
Taijul then claimed the prized scalp of Brendan Taylor (6), who offered a low catch at short leg.
Masakadza, who chose to bat first, stayed clam in an otherwise a flat track, using his feet well against the spinners.
The opener’s 99 ball-52 not out was laced with four fours and two sixes.
Taijul Islam had figures of 2-43 after he delivered 13 overs at a stretch.
