India under-19 cricketer Ayush Badoni has played a big part in winning the title for his country in the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup. The 18-year-old Delhi-boy is dreaming big after playing a 28-ball innings 52 runs, which featured two fours and five huge sixes, four of which came in a single over.

Soft-spoken Ayush hit four sixes in an over and helped his team reach 304 runs in 50 overs. He along with the team’s acting captain, Prabh Simran Singh, added 100 runs in the last 9.1 overs.

Ayush and his partner’s aggressive batting display in the slog overs of the Indian innings was the main talking point in their 144-run win over Sri Lanka in the all-important final match at the Sher-e-Bangla National stadium, Mirpur.

After the victory celebration, Cricfrenzy caught up with Ayush Badoni. And here are the excerpts from that interview…

Cricfrenzy (CF): How was the tournament for you?

Ayush Badoni (AB): It was a great tournament for me great exposure and great opportunity.

CF: How was the wicket, you seemed to like it very much.

AB: It was a pretty good for batting and I batted for five overs and I hit all around.

CF: Did you want to hit six 6s in an over?

AB: I wanted to, but it didn’t come up that well. I hit four.

CF: Was it fun out there?

AB: I was only having fun. That’s like that and stopped the ball.

CF: What was the plan behind your innings?

AB: They just told me to play long, play till the 50th over when I was batting.
