Chandimal returns to national side ahead of the South Africa T20Is

Dinesh Chandimal has returned to the Sri Lanka National Team for the upcoming T20I series against the Proteas. The islanders will host South Africa for a three-match series, starting on August 14.
Chandimal missed the Test and the ODI series against the South African side after pleading guilty to conduct contrary to the spirit of the game. Sri Lanka head-coach Chandika Hathursingha and team manager Asanka Gurusinha had also admitted to breaching the spirit of the game. They too suffered the same fate as Chandimal.
The Sri Lanka skipper also missed the last Test against West Indies, after being found guilty of changing the condition of the ball.

Chandimal will now play under the stewardship of Angelo Mathews in the 20-over format.
Sri Lanka completed 2-0 series clean sweep over South Africa in Tests, before South Africa sealed the ongoing five-ODI series by winning the first three matches. The fifth and final match of the series will take place on Sunday (August 12).
