Ben Stokes and Alex Hales were involved in a brawl with two men named Ryan Ali and Ryan Hale outside a pub on September 25 last season. Stokes also mocked William O’Connor and Kai Barry, a gay couple who were present at the location late that night,a court was told.

The English all-rounder reportedly bullied them, and this has led him into further trouble in this already engaging case. Max Wilson, a student who resides in the Clifton Triangle area, has provided the Bristol Crown Court with certain interesting anecdotes regarding Stokes’ fight.

Wilson had filmed part of this incident from the upper floor of his building near to the location of this fight between Stokes, Hales and the other four people involved. The video footage was published by the Sun, and Wilson claims that the men involved in this brawl behaved like “football hooligans”.

Wilson reportedly said, “It was just such a fierce punch. It just took me by surprise. I felt a bit sorry for the guy who got punched. It looked like he had his hands up.”

According to Wilson’s footage, Hales had kicked a man in the head. “That's what it looks like, yes. He's definitely used his feet on three occasions,” PC Adams, the officer overlooking the case said.

Wilson’s footage has been displayed numerous times during the two days of trial. PC Adams further enhanced in the footage, and said, “Mr Hales is pulling Mr Stokes back by his t-shirt.”

However, Wilson claims that he does not think that either Hales or Stokes initiated the violence. The second day of the trial was largely focused on examining whether Stokes mocked O’Connor and Barry, the gay couple involved in the case.

The door attendant of Mbargo night club, Andrew Cunninghum provided some light on this particular issue. He remarked, “He was trying to provoke them. They [Stokes and Hales] were laughing at them, not with them. I didn't like the fact he [Stokes] flicked a cigarette butt [at O'Connor].”

“These two guys [Barry and O'Connor] are harmless guys. Not aggressive. That's when I stepped in, because they hadn't done anything wrong. They're only little guys. I said 'If you want to start on anyone, start on me. He wouldn't look at me or acknowledge I was there then’, Cunningham emphasized.

The door attendant even said that Stokes wasn’t drunk as such. It was an action stimulated by anger, aggression, threatening and bullying.

This case has taken an interesting turn currently, as Wilson and Cunninghum’s comments on the issue have provided a new dimension to the whole scenario.

Whatever the outcome would be, this particular can take a toll on Stokes and Hales’ international career in the future.
