‘Dhoni one of the greatest ever’

Team India head coach Ravi Shastri has lauded MS Dhoni, claiming
that the former India captain will be regarded as one of the best players of
all time in the ODI format. These words from Shastri come after a host of
Indian cricket team fans wanting to see the back of the man from Ranchi.
Shastri praised Dhoni’s ability to finish games, something
that has made him one of the greatest finishers in the game.
“He’ll (Dhoni) go down as one of the greatest one-day
players the world has ever seen. And when you have that kind of experience, the
level of fitness and what he’s maintained.

“When it comes to finishing a game or batting in the final
overs, there have been very few better than him in the history of the game.
Despite the fact that Dhoni hasn’t entirely turned the world
over with his recent displays in the lower middle order, Shastri thinks that
his presence above the tailend is a massive boost for the team.
“When you have that cushion of someone like him coming at
No. 5, 6 or even 7 it makes a big, big difference.
“And like I said, there is no substitute for experience.
That cannot be bought or sold in the market.”
