Perth regain top spot by defeating Sydney Sixers


Sydney Sixers lost their 4th consecutive match today as Perth Scorchers defeated them by 6 wickets. Perth are now leading the points table in the Big Bash League.
Winning the toss at WACA, Perth Scorchers chose to field first. Sydney Sixers posted 167 runs on the scoreboard losing 4 wickets.
Sixers' opener Jason Roy returned to the pavilion early as he was trapped lbw by Wiley on 6 runs. Another opener Peter Nevill made 33 runs and got stumped at a delivery from Muirhead.
Nic Maddinson scored 30 runs and was dismissed by Wiley. Jordan Billings played an innings of 33 runs before giving his wicket to Andrew Tye.

Jordan Silk remained not out on 45 runs, while at the other end Ben Dwarshuis scored an unbeaten innings of 15 runs.
Perth overcame the target in 19.1 overs and registered a total of 170 runs losing 4 wickets. David Wiley left the pitch in the very second over scoring 1 run.
Another opener Michael Klinger played an astounding innings of 83 runs before getting dismissed by Daniel Sams. Klinger received the Man of the Match award at the end of the clash.
Hilton Cartwright scored 10 runs and got run out. Aston Turner made 45 runs before his wicket was scalped by Sams.Tim David and Adam Voges remained unbeaten on 17 and 6 runs respectively.
Perth Scorchers, winning all their 4 matches till date, will face Brisbane Heat on 5th January in Brisbane. Sydney Sixers will be facing Melbourne Renegades two days earlier.
