Mahmudullah Riayd vows to give his hundred percent if he retains the captaincy of Bangladesh T20 team.
He was the captain of the side when Bangladesh visited India for three-match series but it is not yet sure whether he would retain the captaincy since the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) didn’t give him the responsibility for permanent basis.

“I am not a hundred percent sure that whether I would get the captaincy again. But it is sure, if I get, I will give my hundred and will try to find out the loopholes which was in the last series against India. We have in fact played well against India even though finally we couldn’t win the series,” Mahmudullah said on Saturday.
“As a senior player, I always share my experience with the other. You can’t understand your weakness well, it will be understood well by others. So we should discuss with others and team analyst. In T20 cricket, it is important to understand your own strength. It is important to apply yourselves. We didn’t have good basic for T20 cricket but we are working on it, especially with running between the wicket, strike rotation, shot selection, and others,” he revealed his long term plan for T20 cricket.
He urged the leg-spinner to grab the chance with both hands as Bangladesh needs a good bowler in this type for their T20 squad.
“Wrist spinner (leg-spinner) is very important in T20 cricket. We have been searching for a leg-spinner. There are the likes of Aminul Islam Biplob, Rishad Hossain, Minhajul Abedin Afridi. BBPL is a good platform for them. They should grab the opportunity.”
“Every player is in the selection radar. The players’ responsibility is to play while the selectors would analyze their performance. As a player my duty is to perform in wherever I play,” he added.
